Ministries of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan
The Ministry is the key agency responsible for implementing state policy in the areas of trade, foreign economic relations, and consumer cooperatives. In its activities, the Ministry is strictly guided by the Constitution and laws of Turkmenistan, as well as by the regulatory acts of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
About the Ministry
The Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan carries out activities to supply the domestic market with goods, improve trade and public catering, organize wholesale and retail trade, and protect state interests in foreign markets in accordance with international agreements. The main areas of activity of the Ministry include: Domestic market management: Consistently providing the population with necessary goods, products and services. Service development: Modernization of the work of trade outlets and the public catering system (cafes, restaurants). Foreign economic relations: Conducting trade with foreign countries and protecting the interests of the state in foreign markets. System management: Coordination of trade, supply and service enterprises within its structure.
Uninterrupted supply of the market with goods, products, and services, as well as the creation of necessary strategic reserves of food and non-food items.
Improving the organization of retail and food services and developing wholesale and retail trade through the implementation of advanced domestic and international practices.
Protecting national interests in the international market in accordance with international agreements and creating favorable conditions for the development of foreign trade activities.
Active cooperation with small and medium-sized businesses in the areas of food procurement, raw material supplies, and the construction of facilities for the production of bakery, dairy, and meat products.
Goods and products
Enterprises of the Ministry purchase foodstuffs at affordable prices for the population, and also import raw materials and industrial-purpose products needed for the construction of various facilities.
Enterprises for producing bakery, dairy and meat products are being built, which supports the development of domestic production and the saturation of the domestic market.
